Shalini M. Sitzmann, DO

After graduating cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas, I completed my medical education at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 and my internal medicine residency at Washington Hospital Center in 2008, where I fell in love with Washington, DC and decided to make it home.

I am board certified in internal medicine with ten years experience in primary care, a fellow of the American College of Physicians and an active member of the American Osteopathic Association.  I also teach Georgetown University medical students during their clinical clerkships.

The joy of primary care is the intimate relationship that I have with my patients.  I share in their happiness as they move through the stages of their life-getting married, having kids, starting new jobs, making decisions on care for elderly loved ones and developing their own end of life plans.  I have a holistic approach to medicine and place emphasis on patient education, disease prevention, good nutrition and fitness. In addition to primary care, I am trained in osteopathic manipulative medicine.
